A cloud of frustration and despair is hanging over Mazabuka, where more than 20 maize loaders contracted by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) have allegedly gone five months without receiving their wages. The loaders, who have been handling maize stocks under harsh working conditions, say they feel abandoned despite assurances that funding for maize procurement had already been released by government.
On Thursday, the disgruntled group stormed the Byta FM studios in Mazabuka, seeking a platform to voice their plight after what they described as “months of silence and suffering.”
